**PROVIDENCE, R.I. -**The Brown women's basketball team will close out the regular season at Penn on Saturday before heading to Ithaca, N.Y. for Ivy Madness next week. Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. at the Palestra.

The contest will be broadcast live on ESPN+.

Scouting the Bears (16-9, 8-5 Ivy)

  • The Bears are coming off of a 1-1 weekend, where they defeated Cornell 62-47 on Friday night, and fell to Columbia in a down-to-the-wire 59-56 contest.

  • Following its win over Cornell last Friday, Brown clinched the program's second Ivy Madness berth since the tournament began in 2017.

Grace Arnolieknocked down three triples against the Big Red, moving her into fifth place in program history in career threes with a total of 204. She tacked on another three against Columbia, and is now five away from moving into fourth place.Alyssa Morelandis one of two players listed under six feet tall, averaging more than 10 rebounds per game.- The Bears now tally 16 overall wins, and eight Ivy on the season. Their eighth Ivy win sets a program-best under Head Coach

Monique LeBlanc, with 16 wins matching her highest single-season total with Brown. - Brown brings defensive strength to the matchup, ranking seventh in the nation in field goal defense (35.1) and 13th in scoring defense (56.0).

Scouting the Quakers (16-9, 6-6 Ivy)

  • In their last time out the Quakers defeated Dartmouth, sweeping the season series against the Big Green.

  • Penn has three players averaging double-figures per game: Katie Collins (12.8), Mataya Gayle (12.4), and Simone Sawyer (11.3).

  • Collins rounds out the top-10 scorers in the Ivy League in ninth, with Gayle waiting right outside in 11th.

  • Collins also leads the conference in blocked shots, averaging 1.6 per game.

  • Gayle leads the conference in assists, with an average of 4.5 per game.

History

  • Penn owns a 57-39 record against the Bears, dating back to 1974.

  • The Bears defeated the Quakers in their last meeting back in January. The game went into double overtime with Brown coming out on top, 77-65.

  • Brown is 4-6 in its last 10 matchups with Penn.
