Brown (20-16) also moves into a first-place tie with Penn in the Ivy League standings at 12-6. The Bears and Quakers will round out the regular season this weekend in Philadelphia, with each team controlling its own destiny. A three-game sweep by either squad would clinch an outright Ivy League title and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming Ivy League Tournament.
Brown scored runs in seven of its eight times up at the plate, including six innings with multiple runs. Seven of Brown's hits came with two outs.
Eight of Brown's starting nine registered a hit, with each of the first seven batters recording at least two hits apiece. Freshman Matt Luigs had four hits and four runs scored, coming a homer shy of hitting for the cycle to extend his hitting streak to 10 games. Senior Mika Petersen was a triple shy of the cycle and had three hits and five RBIs to extend his hitting streak to 17 games. Sophomore Jack Edmunds had three hits including a home run with two RBIs, senior Mark Henshon homered as part of a three-hit, three RBI performance, and senior DJ Dillehay had two hits including a home run.
Freshman Camren Piwnicki tossed 2.2 scoreless innings of relief to earn the win.
Dillehay put the Bears up 2-0 in the first inning with a two-run homer to left field.
