PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Brown softball's Abby Bettencourt was named Ivy League Player of the Week, the league announced on Monday (May 4).

Bettencourt led Brown at the plate hitting .778 (7-for-9) and posting an .818 on base percentage with a walk and hit by pitch. Bettencourt also drove in eight runs and score three, picking up three doubles and a home run, slugging 1.444 for the weekend.

Bettencourt was 4-for-4 with three doubles and four RBI in Brown's game two win of the series with Penn that clinched the Bears' spot in the Ivy League Tournament. The sophomore went 2-for-2 with a walk and four RBI with a three-run home run in the series finale.

This is Bettencourt's first Ivy League Player of the Week honor.
