Track and Field Sets Three School Records at Georgia Tech Invitational
PROVIDENCE, R.I. – The Brown track and field programs competed at three meets this weekend and had three school records broken by the women's team, all of which came at the Georgia Tech Invitational.

Junior Alyssa Jackson broke the program benchmarks in both the 100m and 200m dashes, and junior Elle Riley broke the 33-year old school record in the 400m hurdles. All told, seven marks on the women's side landed in the top 10 in program history, while the men's team had four all-time top 10 placements.
Brown also had athletes compete at the UConn Northeast Challenge and the MIT Sean Collier Invitational.
GEORGIA TECH INVITATIONAL
Jackson set a new benchmark in the 100m dash in 11.70, breaking the old school record by 0.05 seconds, which she had shared with Thelma Breezaetl '10. Jackson also set a new school record in the 200m dash in 23.71, surpassing the previous record of 23.88 that was set by Maddie Frey in 2022.
Riley's school record came in the 400m hurdles, where she finished second overall out of 35 runners in 57.80, surpassing the old school record of 58.31that was set by Susan Smith in 1993. Brown also has a new athlete in the No. 10 spot all-time as Maddelyn Brooks finished the 400m hurdles in 1:01.29.
Freshman Sydney Ruckett finished second overall in the 400m dash in 53.24, good enough for No. 2 all-time in school history.
Lastly in the 100m hurdles, Simone Dunbar ran a 13.96 in the 100m hurdles, which ranks seventh in school history.
On the men's side, sophomore Trevor Wilder ran the third fastest time in school history in the 400m in 46.99 seconds. The sprint quartet of Elias Archie, Trevor Wilder, Solomon Miller and Jason Estrada all combined for a time of 41.03 in the 4x100m relay, which ranks seventh in school history.
In the javelin, Eddie Webb finished third overall out of 22 at 64.81 meters, which improves his grip on the 10th-best mark in school history. Junior Ethan Wordell placed runner up out of 24 athletes overall in the hammer throw at 62.84m, which sits at No. 4 in school history.
UCONN NORTHEAST CHALLENGE
On the women's side at UConn, freshman Anya Anderson took home first place in the 200 meters with the fifth-fastest time in school history of 24.05. She also led the team in sixth place of the 100m dash in 12.03.
The men were highlighted by freshman Sean Wilton taking seventh in the shot put at 15.95m, sophomore John Mueller finishing fourth overall in the 400m hurdles in 53.84, and Nick Strayer who crossed the line in the 800 meters in 1:52.03.
MIT SEAN COLLIER INVITATIONAL
On Friday, Duncan Frisbie-Smith took sixth overall in the men's 1500m in 3:50.82, and on the women's side, Olivia Faga placed fourth overall in the 1500m in 4:32.03.
UP NEXT
Next weekend, Brown will have select athletes compete at the Penn Relays April 23-25, while others will attend the Ken O'Brien Pre-Conference Meet at UMass on Saturday the 25th.
