Women's Tennis Places Four Athletes on CSC Academic All-District Team
CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago women's tennis team placed four student-athletes on the CSC Academic All-District Team, as released by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon. The four student-athletes earning Academic All-District honors include Sarena Biria, Lauren Khou, Oliwia Mikos, and Clara Zou.

CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago women's tennis team placed four student-athletes on the CSC Academic All-District Team, as released by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon. The four student-athletes earning Academic All-District honors include Sarena Biria, Lauren Khou, Oliwia Mikos, and Clara Zou.
Sarena Biria added her first-career Academic All-District selection after she was named the UAA Women's Tennis Player of the Year. The Kansas City, Kansas native was the lone UChicago player to earn 1st-Team All-UAA honors as she has recorded a 24-9 overall record in singles play in her junior year. The Kansas City, Kansas native is ranked as the #2 overall player in NCAA Division III and the #1 ranked player in both the Central Region (ITA) and Region VI (NCAA). Biria earned her second ITA Singles All-American honor this season after winning the ITA Central Region title in singles play, and she has tallied a 7-2 record against nationally-ranked opponents on the year. Biria also earned her first-career selection to the NCAA Division III Individual National Championships in singles, beginning on May 22 in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
Lauren Khou earned her spot on the Academic All-District team for the first time in her career after compiling 15 doubles wins overall on the season. The Johns Creek, Georgia native enters the National Quarterfinals as a part of the #24 doubles team in NCAA Division III and the #5 doubles team in the Central Region. She has recorded a 15-13 record overall in doubles and a 6-2 record at the #1 doubles position this season. She has also picked up a trio of regionally-ranked wins and one nationally-ranked win, taking down the #7-ranked team from WashU with a 6-4 win. The senior economics major has improved her career record in doubles to 61-31 as she wraps up her collegiate career this weekend.
Oliwia Mikos brought home the second Academic All-District selection of her career after recording a 6-3 singles record and a 15-12 doubles record on the mound. The Willowbrook, Illinois native enters the National Quarterfinals as a part of the #24 doubles team in NCAA Division III and the #5 doubles team in the Central Region. She has recorded a 15-12 record overall in doubles and a 6-3 record in singles this season. She has also picked up four regionally-ranked wins and one nationally-ranked win, taking down the #7-ranked team from WashU with a 6-4 win, and she also earned one nationally-ranked singles win, defeating the #31 player in NAIA from Holy Cross in the final match of the regular season. The junior economics major has improved her career record in singles to 34-12 and in doubles to 65-28.
Clara Zou earned her first-career Academic All-District honors after recording a 15-8 singles record. The Potomac, Maryland native enters the National Quarterfinals ranked as the #24 singles player in NCAA Division III and the #5 singles player in the Central Region, and she earned her first career selection to the Individual National Championships, where she will join her teammate in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Zou has picked up a pair of wins over nationally-ranked opponents this season, earning a 6-3, 1-6, 6-1 win over the #22 player from Kenyon, Kiara Komlodi, and a 6-3, 6-4 win over the #15 player from WashU, Eleanor Archer. Overall in her two-year career, Zou has compiled a 41-10 singles record for the Maroons.
The University of Chicago women's tennis team brought home its fifth consecutive UAA title in program history and earned its ninth consecutive trip to the National Quarterfinals last weekend. The Maroons have won 11 consecutive matches dating back to March 19, and they take to the courts in the National Quarterfinals on Monday, May 18, as #2 UChicago battles #5 Babson at 2 PM ET in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
CSC Academic All-District Team honorees are selected by the national organization based on combined academic and athletic performance. Nominees must have a GPA above 3.50 in at least their sophomore year and have competed in 75% of the team's days of competition. Both Sarena Biria and Clara Zou will advance to the Academic All-America ballot, which will be voted on by sports information directors nationwide. The 2026 Academic All-America Team will be announced on Tuesday, June 2.
