Softball Defeats Princeton, Splits Doubleheader
PRINCETON, N.J. – The Dartmouth softball team split its doubleheader against Princeton on Saturday, falling 8-1 in the opener before bouncing back with a 10-6 victory in game two.

PRINCETON, N.J. – The Dartmouth softball team split its doubleheader against Princeton on Saturday, falling 8-1 in the opener before bouncing back with a 10-6 victory in game two.
In game one, Dartmouth struck first in the second inning when Sydney Herrmann launched a solo home run to left field, giving the Big Green an early 1-0 lead. Princeton responded in the bottom half of the inning, capitalizing on a two-run home run to take a 2-1 lead
The Tigers added to their lead in the fourth. After a leadoff double and a sacrifice fly plated one run, a two-out, two-run single pushed the lead to 5-1. Princeton extended the lead in the sixth inning, scoring three runs to secure the 8-1 result. Dartmouth totaled four hits in the game, including a two-hit performance from Justice Malone.
In the second game, the Big Green opened scoring in the first inning, as Herrmann delivered a two-run double to center field. Princeton answered with three runs in the bottom of the frame to briefly take the lead.
Dartmouth regained control in the third inning with a three-run rally. Olivia Schramm tied the game with an RBI single before Marilyn Beauvais and Herrmann each drove in runs to make it 5-3.
The Big Green broke the game open in the fourth inning, scoring five runs on five hits. Schramm highlighted the frame with a two-run home run, while Georgia Bilski added an RBI double and Justice Malone delivered a two-run single to extend the lead to 10-4.
Princeton added a run in the third and two more in the seventh, but was unable to regain control.
Anna Fagan went the distance in the circle for the Big Green, earning the win after allowing six runs on 13 hits while striking out one.
