Blistering Start Puts Women's Lacrosse Into NCAA Third Round With 17-7 Win Over Haverford
MEDFORD, MA (May 10, 2026) -- The No. 4 Tufts University women's lacrosse team scored the game's first 12 goals Sunday, five coming from senior Allie Zorn, as the Jumbos cruised past No. 23 Haverford College 17-7 in the 2026 NCAA Division III Tournament Second Round in play from Bello Field.

Allie Zorn, as the Jumbos cruised past No. 23 Haverford College 17-7 in the 2026 NCAA Division III Tournament Second Round in play from Bello Field.
The victory punches the Jumbos ticket to the NCAA Third Round, where Tufts will play host to No. 13 Gettysburg College Saturday at a time to be determined. Gettysburg defeated MIT earlier Sunday 13-9 in Cambridge to advance.
Tufts (15-3) was dominant from the first whistle on Sunday, as first-year
Eleanor Helm scored 66 seconds into the contest on the first possession of the game for the Jumbos to get the scoring going. Zorn potted a man-up goal, netting two more after a
Kate Deehan score to make it 5-0 after less than five minutes of action. The goals continued as Zorn tallied five in the first quarter, as Tufts led 9-0 through the first 15 minutes.
The Jumbos scored three unassisted tallies from senior
Elsa Schutt, Helm and junior
Sophia Claps to up their lead to 12-0 before a Natalie Bole man-up goal by the Fords (14-7) got the visitors on the board.
Tufts was able to get most of its starters out of the game by halftime, though the Jumbos continued to find goals as first-year
Amelia Sousa netted two to help close out the win.
Zorn moved into No. 2 all-time in points at Tufts Sunday with her six points on five goals and one assist. She now has 273 points for her career, passing Rebecca Black and her 271 points from 1993-96. Zorn also inched close to second all-time in goals with 187 now, trailing Emily Games '21 and her 192 by just five.
Helm finished with two goals and four assists, adding two ground balls, while Sousa,
Neta Leschly and
Schuyler Lloyd all had two goals for the Jumbos.
First-year
Sophie Haas had three grounders and one caused turnover in the win, while Deehan posted a goal, two ground balls and a draw control. Senior
Annie Aspesi finished with two ground balls and an assist, and
Kate Kieran also picked up two loose balls. Schutt finished with five draw controls to lead the way for Tufts, and first-year
Aynalie Charron tallied four as well.
Devon Chipman made three stops while allowing just one goal in the first half, and
Sophie Powless stopped four shots as well for Tufts in net.
Tufts finished with a 36-20 edge in shots for the game, while adding a 4-for-5 clip on free position shots. Tufts also dominated on the circle, holding a 20-6 edge on draw controls. Tufts also forced Haverford into nine turnovers on clears.
Haverford's Brooke Epstein scored three times, becoming the Fords' all-time leading goal and point scorer in program history Sunday. Kylie McNamara added two goals for the Fords.
