Chung Named NAAA Athlete of the Week
Women's lacrosse sophomore attacker Alyssa Chung was named the Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA) Athlete of the Week. Chung helped Navy win the 2026 Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Championship, leading the team to wins against Bucknell (W, 18-8) and #13 Army (W, 17-11).

Alyssa Chung was named the Naval Academy Athletic Association (NAAA) Athlete of the Week. Chung helped Navy win the 2026 Patriot League Women's Lacrosse Championship, leading the team to wins against Bucknell (W, 18-8) and #13 Army (W, 17-11).
The sophomore paced the offense with a team-best 12 points on a team-high 10 goals with two assists, four draw controls, four caused turnovers, and three ground balls to secure Tournament MVP honors.
With her 12 points, Chung now has 102 points on the year, becoming the sixth player in program history to record 100 or more points in a season, joining Jenna Collins (2017, '18), Julia Collins (2018), Jasmine DePompeo (2013), Kelly Larkin (2017, '18, '19), and Erin Rawlick (2010).
The Severna Park native opened the PL Tournament against Bucknell leading all scorers with seven points on a team-high five goals and two assists, helping the Midshipmen to a 10-goal victory (W, 18-8) in the semifinals. She followed that performance with a team-best five goals in the Championship Game against #13 Army, helping Navy defeat its rival, 17-11, and claim its second consecutive conference title.
For the first time since 2013, the Navy women's lacrosse team is set to host NCAA Tournament first and second round games at Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium. The Midshipmen earned the No. 6 seed for the NCAA Tournament, marking the highest seed in program history.
Navy (18-1) will host UMass (16-2), the MAC champion, on Friday at 3:00 p.m. in the NCAA First Round. Syracuse (13-5) will face Loyola (12-7) Friday at 7:00 p.m. Syracuse and Loyola received at-large berths.
The winners from Friday's games will meet on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. in the NCAA Second Round.
