Modak Named UAA Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week

Carnegie Mellon University sophomore Kotistha Modak was named University Athletic Association (UAA) Women’s Tennis Athlete of the Week for her performance over the weekend in helping the eighth-ranked Tartans advance to the quarterfinals of the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship for the eighth time in school history and the first time since 2023.

Carnegie Mellon improves to 19-7, while Johns Hopkins concludes its season at 13-7.

#8 Tartans Advance to Third Round of NCAA Championship with Win Over Case Western Reserve

The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team, ranked eighth in the nation, ran into 15th-ranked and University Athletic Association foe Case Western Reserve University on Saturday afternoon in the second round of the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship. The Tartans won 4-1 to move to 18-7 for the season while the Spartans season ended with a 13-7 mark. The match was played on the campus of Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland.
