Baseball Defeats RIT in NCAA Tournament Elimination Game, 9-8

GORHAM, Maine—Junior Ryan Liss (Hollywood, Fla.) hit a first-inning grand slam and seniors Connor Doan (Pasadena, Texas) and Zander Teator (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) combined to retire six of the final seven hitters in a one-run game as Babson College defeated the Rochester Institute of Technology 9-8 in an NCAA Tournament elimination game on Sunday afternoon at Ed Flaherty Field.

No. 5 Women's Tennis Set for NCAA Quarterfinal Test Against No. 2 Chicago on Monday

WHAT TO KNOW • The fifth-ranked Babson women's tennis team advanced to the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals for the first time in program history with its victory over Middlebury on May 10 and will now face second-ranked Chicago on Monday. • The Beavers join MIT (2015, 2018, 2019, 2022) as the only NEWMAC programs to reach the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Championship.

GORHAM, Maine—Sophomore Caleb Vacchiano (Cornish, Maine) hit a go-ahead grand slam to cap a nine-run uprising in the bottom of the eighth inning as the University of Southern Maine came from behind to defeat visiting Babson College, 11-7, in the NCAA Tournament Gorham Regional on Saturday afternoon at Ed Flaherty Field.
