Doubek and Basso Earn All-Patriot League Honors

EASTON, Pa. – The Lafayette baseball team earned two All-Patriot League selections on Wednesday afternoon.

Junior catcher

Brandon Doubek was named to the First Team and junior pitcher

Owen Basso garnered Second-Team honors.

Doubek was fifth in the league in batting with a .308 average. The Maplewood, N.J. native blasted a team-best nine home runs, along with having 41 hits, 34 RBIs, five doubles and scoring 41 runs. The Integrative Engineering major had 10 multi-hit games and a team-leading 11 multi-RBI games.

Basso was tied for fourth in the Patriot League with two saves. The Silver Spring, Md. native earned a win against Holy Cross. Basso appeared in 17 contests in 2026, exclusively out of the bullpen. The Economics major and had a 4.81 ERA in 33.2 innings pitched, along with 32 strikeouts.

MEDFORD, Mass. – Alex Henderson hit a two-run homer in the fifth to start the comeback, and the CMS bullpen threw 7.1 innings of two-hit relief, as the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps baseball team rallied from an early 3-0 deficit to earn a 6-3 victory over Kean to win the NCAA Regional at Medford and advance to the Super Regionals for the second straight season.

GORHAM, Maine—Sophomore Caleb Vacchiano (Cornish, Maine) hit a go-ahead grand slam to cap a nine-run uprising in the bottom of the eighth inning as the University of Southern Maine came from behind to defeat visiting Babson College, 11-7, in the NCAA Tournament Gorham Regional on Saturday afternoon at Ed Flaherty Field.
