Leaman And Walewander Earn Spots On Academic All-Patriot League Team
The Patriot League announced its 2026 Patriot League Baseball Scholar Athlete of the Year and Academic All-League teams on Thursday morning. Senior pitcher Cole Leaman and senior catcher Owen Walewander both earned spots on the academic all-league team.

BETHLEHEM, Pa. – The Patriot League announced its 2026 Patriot League Baseball Scholar Athlete of the Year and Academic All-League teams on Thursday morning. Senior pitcher Cole Leaman and senior catcher Owen Walewander both earned spots on the academic all-league team.
A member of the 2024 Academic All-Patriot League team, Leaman will graduate from Lehigh with a cumulative GPA of 3.79 in economics. He is a three-time Patriot League Academic Honor Roll recipient, seven-time Faculty Athletics Council Award (above a 3.2 GPA) recipient, and a six-time member of the Dean's List (above a 3.6 GPA).
Leaman made 12 appearances on the mound this past season, all of which were starts. He posted a team-high 4.21 ERA in 47.0 innings pitched. Leaman's 54 strikeouts ranked fifth in the Patriot League and he posted a .232 batting average against.
Walewander is set to graduate from Lehigh with a degree in accounting with a 3.58 cumulative GPA. He was a member of the Academic All-Patriot League team last season and has made Patriot League Academic Honor Roll three times. He has received the Faculty Athletics Council Academic Award seven times and has made the Dean's List four times.
In his final season in the brown and white, Walewander batted .263 on 42 hits with a team-high 38 RBIs and ten home runs. A member of the second team All-Patriot League, Walewander ranked fourth in the Patriot League in RBIs and finished second in home runs. Walewander had 11 multi-hit games, including a massive performance going 4-5 with eight RBIs against Coppin State (4/14).
