Men's Rowing Competes At Drexel In Spring Opener
Lehigh men's rowing kicked off the spring campaign on the road against the Drexel Dragons on Saturday morning. The Mountain Hawks and Dragons competed in two eights races while the scheduled fours race was canceled due to wind conditions.

PHILADELPHIA – Lehigh men's rowing kicked off the spring campaign on the road against the Drexel Dragons on Saturday morning. The Mountain Hawks and Dragons competed in two eights races while the scheduled fours race was canceled due to wind conditions.

The first race of the day for the Mountain Hawks was between Lehigh's second varsity eight and Drexel's third and fourth varsity eight boats. Drexel's third varsity eight took the win with a time of 6:30.47 while their fourth varsity eight came in second at 6:38.18. Lehigh's second varsity eight finished the race in 6:47.57.
"I thought
Lehigh's first varsity eight competed against Drexel's first and second varsity eight boats. The Drexel first boat finished in 6:20.65 followed by the Drexel second in 6:31.69 and the Lehigh first in 6:39.41.
"Our first varsity eight remains adaptable," said Costas. "Very promising start for them, and we're excited to get another opportunity to race Division I opponents in two weeks before racing conference opponents throughout April. Continuing to find speed is the goal."
The Mountain Hawks return to action on March 28 for the Mountain Hawk Invite at nearby Lake Nockamixon.

Peter Costas. "I thought the eights confronted the conditions nicely and responded well to the challenging wind gusts. Luke Blumstood out in the 2v8+ race," said Costas.
