Men's Track & Field Wraps Up Penn Relays

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Bucknell men's track & field wrapped up a successful Penn Relays on Sunday with a relay team competing in the 4x100 and Wade Shomper throwing in the shot put. The two events closed the book on the banner weekend at historic Franklin Field.

PHILADELPHIA, Pa.- Bucknell men's track & field wrapped up a successful Penn Relays on Sunday with a relay team competing in the 4x100 and Wade Shomper throwing in the shot put. The two events closed the book on the banner weekend at historic Franklin Field.

Results

The 4x100-meter relay team of Amani Brown, Preston Lubeski, Garrett Backus, and Luke Petryna entered the finals of the college edition and, despite dreary and cold rain, finished fifth with a time of 41.54.

Wade Shomper placed 12th in the elite championship division shot put. Bucknell's reigning school record holder recorded marks of 16+ meters in all three throws. His best toss of 17.04m (55-11) arrived in his final attempt.

Bucknell had a hearty and vocal group of alumni in the stands. 1976 NCAA Champion Thomas McLean was also present as a meet official and enjoyed seeing his beloved Bison in action. McLean won his title at Franklin Field.

The Orange & Blue resume action next Friday at the Kehoe Twilight.
