Franny Donohue and Paige Nelson Earn NESCAC All-Conference Honors
HADLEY, Mass. - After guiding the No. 20-ranked Williams College women's lacrosse team to its first NCAA Division III Tournament appearance since 2014, senior captain and attack Franny Donohue and senior midfielder Paige Nelson were named to the NESCAC All-Conference First and Second Team, respectively, on Tuesday afternoon.

Paige Nelson were named to the NESCAC All-Conference First and Second Team, respectively, on Tuesday afternoon.
Donohue ranks second in the NESCAC in total points (79), second in points per game (4.94), second in goals per game (3.06), third in total goals (49), third in assists per game (1.88) and fourth in total assists (30). She tallied two or more points in all 15 regular-season games, posting six or more on eight occasions.
She finished with eight points, respectively, in victories over RPI on March 11 and Southern Maine on March 18, with the eight points tying the fourth most during a single game in program history. Her five assists against RPI are tied for the second most during a single game in program history.
The Cold Spring Harbor, New York, native tallied three goals and four assists during a 12-10 victory at then-No. 15 Scranton on March 24, as the Ephs outscored the hosts, 5-2, in the fourth quarter. Donohue recorded three goals and two assists, as Williams defeated then-No. 3 Colby, 11-9, on March 7 in Waterville, Maine.
Nelson has done a little bit of everything, ranking in a tie for first on the team in ground balls (28) and also compiling 17 caused turnovers and 12 goals. She tallied a career-high nine caused turnovers, to go along with four draw controls, three ground balls and one goal, during a 9-6 win over Bowdoin on March 14 at Farley-Lamb Field.
The Sudbury, Massachusetts, native tallied a career-best nine draw controls in the win at Scranton, while also recording eight in the triumph at Colby. She grabbed four ground balls, respectively, in three games, including during wins against Connecticut College on March 21 and Hamilton on April 8.
The Ephs (9-7, 5-5 NESCAC) are making their seventh all-time appearance on the national stage. The 1998 and 2000 version of the Ephs finished as runner-up on the national stage, while the 2014 team advanced to the Sweet 16.
Williams will square off against Grove City (16-3, 9-0 Presidents' Athletic Conference) during first-round action Saturday at 1 p.m. on the campus of William Smith College in Geneva, New York.
