Women's Tennis Earns At-Large NCAA Bid, To Host Matches This Weekend
AMHERST, MA. – The Amherst College women's tennis team solidified their place in the 2026 NCAA Div. III Tournament field on Monday afternoon and will host five other schools in the first three rounds this weekend.
AMHERST, MA. – The Amherst College women's tennis team solidified their place in the 2026 NCAA Div. III Tournament field on Monday afternoon and will host five other schools in the first three rounds this weekend.
Games will take place from Friday, May 9 through Sunday, May 11 at the Amherst Tennis Courts. Games will begin with the First Round at 10 a.m., 1 p.m., and 4 p.m. on Friday, and will continue with the Second Round at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday. Sunday's Third Round matchup will begin at 12 p.m. In the case of inclement weather, games will be moved to the Magic Lincer Tennis Club of Manchester in Connecticut.
Amherst will play host to five other squads: Wesleyan, Moravian, Hunter College, Swarthmore, Simmons and Manhattanville. Wesleyan (18-2) earned a First-Round bye after winning the NESCAC Championship this past weekend. They will play the winner of the match between Landmark Conference champ Moravian (17-3) and CUNYAC winner Hunter College (12-0) on Saturday. Centennial Conference winner Swarthmore (15-6) will face NAC champion Simmons (12-7), and Amherst (11-7) will play Skyline winner Manhattanville (10-2) for a spot in Saturday's matches.
