Adams Tabbed Offensive Player of the Year As #1 Panthers Earn NESCAC Awards

The #1 Middlebury women's lacrosse team was well-represented on the NESCAC awards list this spring, highlighted by Offensive Player of the Year Caroline Adams. Head coach Kate Livesay, alongside assistants Olivia Seymour, Amy Patton and Bowen Holden, were tabbed the conference's coaching staff of the year. Adams, Lucy Bishop, Caroline Messer, Haley Hamilton and Skylar Lach garnered all-league honors.

  • Adams (Offensive Player of the Year & First Team)

  • Adams becomes the third straight Panther to earn the honor since the split into offensive and defensive categories in 2023. Jane Earley claimed the accolade in 2023, while Hope Shue won it in each of the last two springs.

  • The senior ranks first in the NESCAC in points (92), goals (59), free-position tallies (1.11 per game) and draw controls (103). She slots third among conference peers with 33 assists.

  • Adams became the program's record holder in draws won earlier this spring, entering the NCAA Tournament with 452.

  • The captain is 11 points away from fifth place in Middlebury's career ranks, while she sits four away in the assist category.

  • The attacker earned her third straight nod, securing second-team praise last year and first-team laurels as a sophomore.

  • Bishop (First Team)

  • Securing All-NESCAC praise for the first time, Bishop lands a spot on the first team.

  • She ranks second on the squad and third in the league with 86 draw controls.

  • Bishop is fifth on the Panther career list with 221 victories at midfield, while her 86 triumphs this season are sixth.

  • On April 15, she became the sixth player in program history to surpass 200 draw controls.

  • Messer (First Team)

  • Joining Bishop as a first-time honoree, Messer secured first-team accolades.

  • The defender has started in all 18 games this season.

  • The senior paces the team with 51 ground balls and 39 caused turnovers.

  • Messer bolsters a backline that ranks third in Division III in scoring defense, allowing a stingy 5.11 goals per game.

  • The Panther is third in Middlebury's record books with 145 career rollers, while her 84 caused turnovers are sixth.

  • Hamilton (Second Team)

  • Hamilton earns her initial All-NESCAC accolade with a spot on the second squad.

  • The Panther slots second on the team charts with 51 goals and 57 points this spring.

  • She has posted a pair of six-point efforts, wrinkling the nylon six times in wins over St. Lawrence and Franklin & Marshall.

  • Hamilton has tallied a hat trick in 11 contests during the campaign.

  • The senior is also a contributor around the draw circle, winning 17 opportunities.

  • Lach (Second Team)

  • For the first time in her career, Lach secured all-league honors with a second-team selection.

  • The senior is versatile in the scoring zone, rotating from below the goal line extended to around the perimeter.

  • She has started every contest and ranks third on the squad in points (53), goals (35) and assists (18).

  • Lach is on the precipice of the 100-goal plateau as a Panther, entering the NCAA Tournament with 96.

  • Livesay, Seymour, Patton & Holden (Coaching Staff of the Year)

  • Middlebury claimed the inaugural women's lacrosse coaching staff of the year honor two seasons ago and has secured the laurel in three straight campaigns.

  • Previously, Livesay earned the solo award three times (2023, 2022, 2019), alongside former head coach Missy Foote, who garnered the accolade on six occasions.

  • Livesay, Seymour, Patton and Holden led the team to its fifth straight undefeated regular season.

  • The Panthers enter the NCAA Tournament as winners of 23 consecutive games dating back to last spring.

The Panthers received the NESCAC's automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament and a first-round bye. Middlebury competes in the second round on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Peter Kohn Field.
