Men’s Golf Begins Spring Slate at Bantams/Hawks Spring Invitational

The Middlebury men's golf team opened its spring campaign at the two-day Bantams/Hawks Spring Invitational in Connecticut, finishing ninth out of 14 teams with a 36-hole score of 591. Hofstra took home the team title at 567, while Bowdoin (573) and Trinity's B Team (576) rounded out the top-three slots.

The Middlebury men's golf team opened its spring campaign at the two-day Bantams/Hawks Spring Invitational in Connecticut, finishing ninth out of 14 teams with a 36-hole score of 591. Hofstra took home the team title at 567, while Bowdoin (573) and Trinity's B Team (576) rounded out the top-three slots.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Charlie Schulman led the charge for the Panthers, finishing in a tie for sixth with two other golfers. He fired a two-under 68 over the final 18 holes to finish with a 141. Schulman tallied an eagle on the par-five 14th and added three birdies on Sunday.

  • Shooting rounds of 73 and 74 was Julian Galindo Macias, who shared 26th place.

  • Evan Fulgieri tallied a share of 39th after a 36-hole score of 149.

  • Rounding out the scorers was Nathan Keshen in 65th (76-81-157). Keshen posted two birdies in the first round on Saturday.

NOTES

  • Schulman's 68 on Sunday bests his career low of 70 set at the 2025 Ekwanok Sap Bucket Challenge.

  • Fulgieri and Schulman each logged a team-best five holes under par over the 36-hole tournament.

Middlebury returns to action next weekend at the Dr. Tim Brown Invitational hosted by Skidmore.
