BRUNSWICK, Maine – The Bowdoin women's lacrosse team ended its season in a narrow 14-11 loss to Tufts on Wednesday night on Ryan Field.
The Polar Bears conclude with a 6-9 overall record and 1-9 NESCAC mark. The Jumbos (13-2) earn the #2 seed for the NESCAC postseason with an 8-2 record.

Tufts went up with a pair of early goals in the first five minutes.

Bowdoin responded with three straight goals to close out the first quarter and lead 3-2. Grace Harvey sandwiched an Ellie Fabbro goal.

The teams traded blows to open the second with the Jumbos scoring first, followed by Tate Ryan, another Tufts goal, and then another Fabbro goal to make it 5-4.

Mara Muse made it a two goal lead, scoring in the final two minutes, and Tufts scored in the final seconds to make it 6-5 Bowdoin heading into halftime.

The Jumbos switched their defense and did not allow a goal in the third quarter. Tufts scored five goals in the frame to take a 10-6 lead.

The visitors added another goal to open the fourth quarter before Muse found the net to make it 11-7. Tufts extended its lead to 14-7 before Bowdoin closed out the game on a four goal run.
