Women’s Track & Field Shows Well at UMass Flagship Opener

AMHERST, MA. - The Wesleyan women's track and field team took to the track on Saturday morning, competing at the UMass Flagship opener while walking away with 10 Top 5 finishes.

From the field events, Alexandra Neubert '29 placed second in the triple jump, reaching 10.91m. Katherine Goss '29 followed in third place, finishing at a distance of 10.58m.

Amelia Goettsch '29 led the Cardinals in the 400m, earning second place as she crossed the finish line at 59.26.

Genevieve Minard '28 placed second in the 800m, finishing with a final time of 2:24.58. Stella Loezos '27 placed fifth, crossing at 2:29.39.

The Cardinals made a solid showing in the 100m hurdles with Sydni Chandler '29 leading the way with a third-place finish at 15.67. Goss placed fourth with a final 15.92 while Alyssa Fix '29 placed fifth at 16.32.

In the 100m dash, Sophia Mack '26 ran a 13.27, placing fourth.
The Cardinals return to action on Saturday, April 4, when they compete at the Amherst Spring Fling.
