No. 6 Women’s Crew Competes at the New England Championships

The No. 6 Wesleyan women's crew team took part in the New England Championships on Saturday out on Lake Quinsigamond.

WORCESTER, Mass. – The No. 6 Wesleyan women's crew team took part in the New England Championships on Saturday out on Lake Quinsigamond.

The Varsity 8 clocked in with the third-fastest preliminary time in heat 3, earning a spot in the petite final later in the evening on Saturday. In the petite final, the Cardinals finished in second place with a time of 6:57.85, giving Wesleyan an eighth place finish out of 20 boats in the V8 competition.

Wesleyan's 2

nd Varsity 8 showed well, earning a spot in the grand final with the second-fastest time in heart 3 of prelims. Wesleyan then finished in fourth place in the grand final, clocking in at 6:57.832 to finish behind Tufts, Williams, and Trinity.

The Cardinals' 3

rd Varsity 8 placed third in heat 1 of prelims, sending the 3V8 to the petite final which Wesleyan went on to win with a time of 7:22.911.

Wesleyan is back in action at the National Invitational Rowing Championship on Sunday, May 10 at Lake Quinsigamond.
