Kovach '28 is NESCAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for second time in April

Mark Kovach '28 (Matawan, N.J./Matawan Regional HS) was selected the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Baseball Pitcher of the Week on Monday, April 27.
Kovach also picked up this award on April 13. He pitched all nine innings, struck out seven, scattered five hits, walked three, and allowed one run in a 4-1 NESCAC West Division win at Amherst College on April 24. Kovach shut out the Mammoths over the last eight innings. He is the only Hamilton pitcher with two nine-inning complete games in the same season in the last 14 years.
Kovach is ninth in the conference with a 3.97 earned run average, tied for seventh with four wins and tied for fourth with 46 strikeouts. He's also ninth with a .238 opponent batting average and seventh with 47.2 innings pitched.
Kovach and the Continentals play a 2026 NESCAC Baseball Championship quarterfinal series at Tufts University on Friday, May 1 and Saturday, May 2. Hamilton (15-16 overall) was the fourth seed in the West Division and Tufts was the top seed in the East.
