No.1 Men's Squash Prepare for CSA National Team Championship, Mar. 5th-8th
HARTFORD, Conn. – The No. 1-seeded Trinity College men's squash team returns to the national stage on March 6, competing in the quarterfinal round of the Potter Cup at the College Squash Association (CSA) National Team Championships hosted at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center.
HARTFORD, Conn. – The No. 1-seeded Trinity College men's squash team returns to the national stage on March 6, competing in the quarterfinal round of the Potter Cup at the College Squash Association (CSA) National Team Championships hosted at the Arlen Specter US Squash Center.
The Bantams earned a first-round bye in the Potter Cup bracket and enter the postseason play with a perfect 16-0 record.
Trinity will face the winner of No. 9 Dartmouth College and No. 8 Princeton University at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, March 6. The Bantams swept Dartmouth, 9-0, on their home courts in early February and secured a decisive 7-2 victory over Princeton in January, handing the Tigers their fourth loss of the season.
Trinity's lineup features senior captain Joachim Chuah at the top spot, entering nationals with an impressive 64-12 career record. Chuah has been named a finalist for the 2026 Skillman Award, presented annually to a senior student-athlete who demonstrates outstanding sportsmanship and skill throughout their collegiate career.
First-year standout and CSA Individuals runner-up Ashab Irfan holds the No. 2 position in the ladder. Seniors Benedek Takacs and Wa-sern Low provide experience and depth across the 3rd, and 4th positions, while CSA Individuals Pool D Champion Huzaifa Ibrahim strengthens the top half of the lineup at No. 5.
The Bantams also boast a strong bottom half of the ladder, with consistent performances from Segundo Portabales, Dmytro Shcherbakov, Daniel Simon, and Andrik Lim.
