HARTFORD, Conn. – Trinity College will be represented this weekend at the 2026 NCAA Division III Women's Indoor Track & Field Championships as first-year Olivia Carney takes to the track in the 200-meter dash.

The Bellingham, Mass. native has been a standout performer for the Bantams throughout the winter season. Carney currently ranks 15th nationally and first in the Mideast Region in the 200m after clocking a qualifying time of 24.93 at the Tufts Final Qualifier on March 7, which converts to a banked track time of 24.55. Carney broke the school record in the 200m in February at a Boston University meet with a mark of 24.90**,** shattering the previous record time of 25.05 set by Jillian Strynar in 2025. Carney went on to further that mark with a 24.81 at the New England Division III Championship, earning her All-New England honors.

Over the course of the indoor campaign, Carney has recorded multiple top finishes in the 200m and 60m while also contributing as a leg of Trinity's 4x400-meter relay team at several meets.

Carney will compete in Heat 1 of the 200m preliminary round on Friday at 5:15 p.m. A total of 20 athletes will compete across five heats. Carney is the only first-year in the field, but is one of five New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) runners entered in the event, joined by Tufts' Arielle Chechile (Heat 1) and Simisola Lawal (Heat 4), Wesleyan University's Juliette Sullivan (Heat 2), and Connecticut College's Blessing Kieh (Heat 4).

In addition to Trinity's national qualifier, the Bantams' men's and women's indoor track & field teams combined to earn 10 U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) All-Region honors across seven events.
