Men's track and field turns in a number of standout performances at NESCAC Championships

The Bates men's track and field team competed at the NESCAC Championships on Saturday and Sunday, turning in a number of impressive performances over the course of the two-day meet.

WILLIAMSTOWN, Mass. -- The Bates men's track and field team competed at the NESCAC Championships on Saturday and Sunday, turning in a number of impressive performances over the course of the two-day meet.

Bates took eighth place overall, scoring 34 points along the way.

Meet Highlights

  • Junior Miles Logan (Brunswick, Maine) took fourth in the 800 meters in a personal-record time of 1:52.72, good for eighth on the Bates all-time performance list in the event.

  • Senior captain Ross Tejeda (Milton, Mass.) also scored points for the Bobcats in the 800, taking seventh in the final in 1:54.17 after he was fifth in the prelims in 1:52.39.

  • Tejeda finished sixth in the 1,500 meters in a personal-record outdoor time of 3:51.56, good for sixth on the Bates top-10 all-time performance list.

  • Sophomore Henry Hood (Hinsdale, N.H.) finished fourth in the hammer throw with a personal-record mark of 170-10 (52.08m).

  • Sophomore Ryan Glaser (Rockport, Maine) took fourth in the shot put with a heave of 44-11.5 (13.70m) and sixth in the hammer throw with a toss of 166-8 (50.80m).

  • Senior captain Evan Migdole (Westbrook, Conn.) placed sixth in the 400-meter hurdles final in a personal-record time of 53.63 seconds. He was third in the prelims, winning his heat in 53.90 seconds.

  • Junior Ryan Harding (Wellesley, Mass.), senior Aydan Gedeon-Hope (Norton, Mass.), first-year Briggs Catino (Rye, N.H.), and junior Evan Berthiaume (East Greenwich, R.I.) scored a pair of points for the Bobcats by winning their section and taking seventh overall in the 4x100 relay with a time of 42.10 seconds, good for fifth on the Bates all-time performance list in the event.

  • First-year Alex Rodgers (Lowell, Mass.), first-year Sam Cashman (Brunswick, Maine), sophomore Davis Brown (Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla.), and sophomore Nate Roberts (Summit, N.J.) teamed up to run the 4x800 relay in 7:46.67, good for sixth place at the meet and three points for Bates.

  • Sophomore Nick Nicolazzo (Wellesley, Mass.) took seventh in the high jump with a top effort of 5-11.5 (1.82m).

  • Sophomore Max Hoffman (Wellesley, Mass.) scored a point for the Bobcats by finishing eighth in the 10,000 meters in 31:18.33.

The Bobcats are back in action on Friday and Saturday at the New England Division III Outdoor Championships, hosted by Springfield College at Blake Track.
