ATLANTA -- Bates women's track and field opened their outdoor season at the Emory Spring Break Classic on Friday and Saturday, turning in a number of impressive performances.

Meet Highlights

  • First-year Hannah Pawlowski (Bow, N.H.) placed fourth out of 78 runners in the 800 meters with her time of 2:12.84, good for third on the Bates top 10 all-time performance list.

  • Sophomore Graca Bila (Westbrook, Maine) took third in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:05.00, good for sixth on the Bates top 10 all-time performance list.

  • Sophomore Mikayla Ferguson (Winchester, Mass.) grabbed third place in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with her time of 11:31.23, enough for 10th all-time at Bates.

  • Junior Lia Traficonte (Cumberland, Maine), first-year Charlotte Everhart (Vienna, Va.), sophomore Alexia Zamora (North Salem, N.Y.), and Pawlowski took third out of 13 teams with their time of 3:55.48, good for fourth on the Bates all-time performance list.

  • First-year Alisandra Lindos (Westbrook, Maine) grabbed second in the triple jump with leap of 38-10.25 (11.84m), putting her second on the Bates all-time performance list in the event.

The Bobcats are back in action next Saturday at the Black and Gold Invitational, hosted by Bryant University in Smithfield, R.I.
