CRIMSON UPDATES

  • Harvard begins the final weekend of the 2026 regular season with a 19-20-1 record, as the Crimson is looking to secure 20 wins for the 19th straight season, excluding the shortened 2020 season.

  • With the results last weekend, Harvard clinches a spot in the Ivy League Tournament for a fourth consecutive season.

  • Last week saw Harvard close out its home schedule at Soldiers Field, as the Crimson dropped all three contests against Princeton.

  • At the plate, junior infielder Sophie Sun led all Crimson against Princeton, hitting two home runs while posting team-highs in batting average (.625) and slugging percentage (1.500) across the three contests.

  • Across the last 14 contests, Sun is leading all Crimson in batting average (.449), hits (22), RBIs (19), slugging percentage (.898) and home runs (6).

  • Harvard ranks second in the Ivy League in strikeout-to-walk ratio (1.96) and strikeouts per seven innings (5.48). Junior pitcher Nicolette Hunter ranks fourth in the Ivy League with a 2.85 earned run average across a league-high 29 pitching appearances.

  • Harvard is led by team captains senior pitcher Ryan Grace, junior outfielder Audrey Szollosi and junior utility Megan Davies.

  • Head coach Jenny Rohn is in her third season at the helm of the Harvard softball program. Leading the Crimson to three-straight trips to the Ivy League Tournament and a share of the Ivy League regular season title in 2024, Rohn is 107-97-1 in her coaching and 72-50-1 in her Harvard tenure.

SCOUTING THE LIONS

  • Columbia is 19-19 approaching the finish line of the 2026 regular season, as the Lions clinch a spot in the 2026 Ivy League Tournament in Princeton, New Jersey with an 11-7 record in conference play.

  • After splitting the doubleheader to start its series with Penn last week, Columbia earned its fifth series victory in conference action by dispatching the Quakers, 12-1, in six innings.

  • First-year pitcher Mads Lawson is the current Ivy League leader in ERA (2.29) and innings pitched (128.1).

SERIES HISTORY

  • Heading into the series, Harvard leads the all-time series against Columbia, 45-15. The first meeting between the two programs arrived during the 2001 season.

  • The two sides last met during the first round of the 2025 Ivy League Tournament, as the Lions earned a 2-1 win thanks to a late rally.

  • Across the last 10 games in the series, Harvard is 8-2 against Columbia. The Crimson is looking to extend a seven-game winning streak against the Lions on the road.

R.O.Y FACTORY

  • The last three Ivy League Rookies of the Year are all products of the Crimson, as Harvard is the first school in conference history to produce three consecutive Rookie of the Year honorees.

  • Sophomore infielder Alexa Muller won 2025 Ivy League Rookie of the Year after shining at the plate, especially in conference play.

  • A native of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Muller led all first-years last season in the Ancient Eight in batting average (.368) and hits (28).   • The 2024 season saw Sun orchestrate one of the greatest rookie seasons in recent memory, leading all first-years in the NCAA in slugging percentage (.797) and ranked third among all first-years in the nation in batting average (.421).

  • Flynn was the 2023 Ivy League Rookie of the Year after setting a new program record for saves in a season with six, as the Phoenix, Arizona native was the 2023 Ivy League Tournament Most Outstanding Player after tallying 11 innings in all three wins for the Crimson.

  • First-year outfielder Sheila Forbes is a two-time Ivy League Rookie of the Week honoree this year, as the Naples, Florida native ranks third on the team in batting average (.353) and second in on-base percentage (.454) this season. Against Ivy League opposition, Forbes leads all Crimson with a .407 batting average and a .500 on-base percentage.

HERE COMES THE SUN

  • Now in her third season with the Crimson, Sun is one of the most explosive and exciting offensive talents in the Ivy League.

  • Starting in all 40 games at shortstop this season, Sun leads Harvard in batting average (.389), OPS (1.164), home runs (11), RBIs (45), slugging percentage (.710), on-base percentage (.454) and total bases (93). Sun's 45 RBIs ranks second in the Ivy League this year.

  • The first student-athlete in conference history to win Ivy League Player and Rookie of the Year in the same season, Sun ranked in the top five in the Ivy League in batting average (.411), on-base percentage (.469), runs scored (33), hits (53) and total bases (81) during the 2025 season.

  • A 2024 Top 10 Finalist for the Tucci/NFCA Freshman of the Year award, Sun is the current all-time program leader in slugging percentage (.712) and batting average (.407). With her grand slam against Cornell, Sun became just the seventh Crimson in program history to record 100 career RBI.

IVY LEAGUE EXCELLENCE

  • Over the last five full seasons, Harvard is one of the top softball programs in the Ivy League, owning a league-best 90-36 record in conference play from 2018 to 2025.

  • In that time span, Harvard is the only team in the Ancient Eight to not drop double-digit conference games in a single season.

  • Harvard won back-to-back Ivy League regular season titles in 2023 and 2024, as it won the inaugural Ivy League Tournament in Princeton in 2023.

  • Harvard softball is rolling with a roster that pulls talent from across the nation this season.

  • 11 different states are included on the Crimson's roster this season including Arizona, New Jersey, Hawaii, Washington, California, Missouri, Ohio, Virginia, Texas, Georgia, North Carolina.
