CHICAGO -- The 21st-ranked University of Chicago women's lacrosse team earned the #13 overall seed and will stay home for the first two rounds of the NCAA Division III Tournament as the Maroons will host two other teams at Stagg Field for the Regional Tournament.

The Maroons will host the Regional tournament on Friday and Saturday as the field reduces from 47 teams to 16. Hope will take on Aurora in the opening game on Friday at 1 PM. Then, on Saturday, #21 UChicago will play the winner of Saturday's game with a spot in the NCAA Tournament Sectional round on the line.

The University of Chicago enters the NCAA Tournament with a record of 10-5 in the regular season after playing the #1 strength of schedule in the country, according the NCAA. The Maroons played 10 of their 15 games against NCAA Tournament teams that rank in the top-35 of NPI this season, including #1 Middlebury, #3 Tufts, #5 Denison, #6 Pomona-Pitzer, #11 Colorado College, #14 MIT, #23 Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, #26 Carroll (WI), #31 UW-River Falls, and #32 Hope.

This will mark the sixth consecutive year that the women's lacrosse team has earned an NCAA Tournament berth, and it marks the fifth time in those six appearances that the Maroons have earned hosting rights in the Regional round of the tournament. The Maroons are 2-2 all-time on their home field in the NCAA Tournament with wins over Hamline (2021) and Capital (2022) and losses to Denison (2023) and Colorado College (2024). Last season, the only time the Maroons did not host the Regional rounds, UChicago took down Wooster 23-7 before falling to #2 Middlebury 23-6 in the Sectional round.

UChicago will look to make the Sectional round for the fourth time in program history. The Maroons reached the Sectional Semifinals in both 2022 and 2025, before eventually falling to Middlebury both times, and they reached the Sectional Finals in 2021 before falling to Denison.
