Four Men's Basketball Players Earn Spot on CSC Academic All-District Team
CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago men's basketball team placed four players on the CSC Academic All-District Team, as released by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon. The four student-athletes earning Academic All-District honors include Joe Berry, Eamonn Kenah, Phillip Lawrence, and Noah Pit.

Noah Pit.
Joe Berry was a key member of one of the most successful teams in University of Chicago history this season as the senior started all 29 games and played 31.7 minutes per game this season. The Topeka, Kansas native averaged 9.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game while shooitng 45.5% from the floor and 35.5% from long range this season. Berry caps off his career ranked top-10 in UChicago history in multiple statistics, including 3rd with 125 steals, 8th with 277 assists, 9th with 39 blocked shots, and 10th with 419 made field goals. He also became the 20th player in UChicago history to reach the 1,000 career points threshold, finishing ranked 15th with 1,080 points scored.
Eamonn Kenah wraps up his career as one of the best three-point shooters in the history of University of Chicago basketball. The Atlanta, Georgia native recorded 11.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists in his 25 games played this season, and he made the 10th-most threes in a single season in UChicago history with 63 made triples at a 43.4% clip. Kenah wraps up his career ranked 2nd in UChicago history with 207 made threes, trailing only the three-point record holder Jake Fenlon for the most in school history. He also finished his career with 394 rebounds, 182 assists, and 82 steals, and he became the 21st player in UChicago history to score over 1,000 career points, finishing 18th with 1,038 career points.
Phillip Lawrence was one of only five players to appear in all 29 games for the Maroons this season while averaging 6.1 points, 1.0 rebounds, and 0.9 steals in just 15.1 minutes per game. The junior from New York City, New York scored a career-high 17 points on 7-13 shooting in a win over #24 Trinity (TX) early in the season, and he wrapped up his season by making 12 of 19 shots for 7.5 points per game in the NCAA Tournament. Lawrence enters his senior season with 462 points, 102 rebounds, 100 assists, and 23 steals while shooting 44% from the floor and 38% from three in his career.
Noah Pit joined Lawrence and Berry as one of the five Maroons to appear in all 29 games, and he started 8 games during the season. The Mendham, New Jersey native averaged 5.9 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game, and he hit 29 threes on the year. The junior reached double figures five times this season with a season-high 13 points on 5-9 shooting in the win over Rochester on February 6. Pit enters his senior campaign with career totals of 310 points, 172 rebounds, 42 assists, and 20 steals while shooting 41% from the floor and 33% from three.
The UChicago men's basketball team finished their season with a 24-5 record overall and 11-3 in the UAA. The Maroons also reached the National Quarterfinals for just the second time in program history with NCAA Tournament wins over Penn State Behrend, #24 Otterbein, and #7 Gustavus Adolphus before falling to #5 Mary Washington in Fort Wayne.
CSC Academic All-District Team honorees are selected by the national organization based on combined academic and athletic performance. Nominees must have a GPA above 3.50 in at least their sophomore year and have played in 90% of their team's games or have started 67% of their team's games.
Joe Berry and
Eamonn Kenah will advance to the Academic All-America ballot, which will be voted on by sports information directors nationwide. The 2026 Academic All-America Team will be announced on Tuesday, April 14.
