CHICAGO --

Shane Regan and

Nick Roper, a pair of University of Chicago men's basketball players, earned their spots on the D3hoops.com All-Region teams, as released by D3hoops.com on Monday afternoon.

Shane Regan earned 1st-Team All-Region honors as the catalyst of the UChicago offense this season with a team-high 19.4 points and 5.3 assists while also grabbing 4.7 rebounds per game. In conference play, Regan was even better with averages of 20.9 points, 6.1 assists, and 5.8 rebounds per game. This is the third consecutive season that Regan has earned 1st-Team All-Region honors as he was 1st-Team All-Region 1 in both 2024 and 2025 at Wesleyan (CT).

Regan has tallied three double-doubles in UAA play, and he recorded the first triple-double in University of Chicago men's basketball history with 12 points, 11 assists, and 10 rebounds in a win at Rochester. Shane currently ranks top-10 in several single-season stat categories in UChicago history including 3rd in Assists (149), 4th in Points (542), 5th in FG Made (194), and 6th in Free Throws Made (122).

Nick Roper joined Regan on the All-Region team as the graduate student earned a 2nd-Team selection for the third consecutive season. Roper has scored 15.4 points per game and grabbed a team-high 7.3 rebounds per game to lead the Maroons this season. He has also hit 56.8% of his shots this season which ranks as the eighth-highest total in single-season history at UChicago.

In addition to his hot shooting in the late, Roper is shooting 40.0% from long range with 22 triples on 55 attempts so far this season. The St. Louis, Missouri native has tallied career totals of 1,278 points scored and 568 rebounds, and he ranks top-80 among all active players in NCAA Division III.

The Maroons are having one of the best seasons in University of Chicago basketball history with a 24-4 record overall and a 11-3 record in UAA play, and they have reached the National Quarterfinals for just the second time in program history. The 24 wins are tied for the second-most wins in program history, tied with the 1997-98 and 2000-01 seasons, and they are three wins shy of tying the 1919-20 team that finished 27-8 for the most wins in a season. The Maroons are also making their first National Quarterfinal appearance since 2001 when they fell to Illinois Wesleyan 77-68 in Chicago.

UChicago returns to action on Thursday night as the Maroons take on #5 Mary Washington at 9 PM ET at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum in Fort Wayne, Indiana with a trip to the National Semifinals on the line. The game can be streamed exclusively on ESPN+ and fans can listen live for free with our student-run radio broadcast on YouTube.
