Alicia Soosai Earns 2nd-Team CSC Academic All-America Honors

CHICAGO -- University of Chicago senior Alicia Soosai capped off her career by being named a CSC Academic All-America, as released by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday morning.

Alicia Soosai capped off her career by being named a CSC Academic All-America, as released by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday morning.

Alicia Soosai brought home a trio of All-American awards from the 2026 NCAA Division III Swimming & Diving Championships in March. Soosai recorded the top individual finish for the Maroons after taking third in the 100 Breaststroke with a time of 1:02.02. Soosai also earned a pair of All-America honors in relay events, placing 5th in the 200 Medley Relay and 9th in the 400 Medley Relay.

The Johor, Malaysia native is a 13-time All-American and has qualified for the National Championships in 14 events during her four-year career. She is also a 4-time All-UAA honoree and won the UAA Championship in the 100 Breaststroke in 2024 for the lone UAA title of her career.

The senior economics and data science double major graduates as the school record holder in four events, including the 100 Breaststroke (1:02.02), the 200 Breaststroke (2:16.06), the 200 Medley Relay (1:41.68), and the 400 Medley Relay (3:40.50).

The 2025 Edith Ballwebber Award winner is also a 3-time CSCAA Scholar All-American and a UAA President's Council Scholar-Athlete. She has remained very involved in the community during her time at the University of Chicago, as a board member of the Women's Athletic Association and a member of Women in Business, Team IMPACT, and the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Soosai is the seventh Academic All-American in the women's swimming & diving program's history and the fifth in the past three seasons, helping extend the University of Chicago streak to 11 consecutive calendar years and 15 of the past 16 calendar years with an Academic All-American, dating back to 2011. She is also the first University of Chicago student-athlete to earn Academic All-American honors during the 2025-26 academic year.
