Women's Swimming & Diving Tallies Four CSC Academic All-District Team Honors

FULL ACADEMIC ALL-DISTRICT TEAM

CHICAGO -- The University of Chicago men's swimming & diving team placed four student-athletes on the CSC Academic All-District Team, as released by College Sports Communicators on Tuesday afternoon. The four student-athletes earning Academic All-District honors include

Sumiye Allen,

Veronica Fong,

Sophia Lee, and

Alicia Soosai.

Sumiye Allen earned Academic All-District honors after bringing home a 2nd-Team All-America honor with an 11th-place finish in the 3-meter diving competition. The sophomore from Los Angeles, California qualified for the National Championships for the second consecutive year and earned the third All-American award of her two-year career. The 1st-Team Scholar All-American in 2025 ranks 5th in UChicago history in dual 3-meter diving, and she ranks 9th in UChicago history in both dual and tournament 1-meter diving.

Veronica Fong added an Academic All-District selection to her extensive trophy shelf after being the lone UAA diver to earn multiple All-America honors this season when she finished 6th in the 3-meter competition and 7th in the 1-meter competition. The senior from West Vancouver, Canada qualified for her fourth consecutive National Championship meet and completed the perfect 8-8 All-America sweep with seven 1st-Team All-America awards and one 2nd-Team All-America award. Fong also caps off her career as a 3-time UAA Champion, and she holds the school record in both dual meet diving events. The economics and psychology double major is a 3-time 1st-Team CSCAA Scholar All-American and a UAA President's Council Scholar-Athlete in 2024.

Sophia Lee earned her stop on the Academic All-District team after earning a pair of All-America honors at the 2026 National Championships. The Burlington, Canada native finish 8th in the 200 Free Relay to bring home her first-career 1st-Team All-America honor, and she added a 2nd-Team All-America selection with a 10th-place finish in the 400 Free Relay. In her career, the sophomore neuroscience major is a 3-time All-American and 2-time 1st-Team All-UAA honoree. She also holds the school record in the 200 Free Relay and ranks 8th in UChicago history in the 200 Free.

Alicia Soosai was selected to the Academic All-Disctrict team following her trio of All-America honors this season. The Johor, Malaysia native brought home the top finish of the National Championship meet for the Maroons as she finished in 3rd in the 100 Breaststroke. Soosai also placed 5th in the 200 Medley Relay and 9th in the 400 Medley Relay. In her career, the senior economics and data science double major qualified for the National Championships in 14 different events and earned All-America honors in 13 of those 14 events. Soosai caps off her impressive career as the school record holder in four different events, including the 100 Breast, 200 Breast, 200 Medley Relay, and 400 Medley Relay.

The UChicago women's swimming & diving team brought home a seventh-place finish at the National Championships as the Maroons earned eight 1st-Team All-America honors and eight 2nd-Team All-America honors.

CSC Academic All-District Team honorees are selected by the national organization based on combined academic and athletic performance. Nominees must have a GPA above 3.50 in at least their sophomore year and have competed in 75% of competitions, finished top-eight in their conference championships meet, or participate in the 2026 NCAA Division III National Championships. All four UChicago swimmers will advance to the Academic All-America ballot, which will be voted on by sports information directors nationwide. The 2026 Academic All-America Team will be announced on Tuesday, April 28.
