Two members of the Emory University women's basketball team were recognized Tuesday afternoon by being selected to the All-University Athletic Association Teams.

Freshman standout Tatum Olson became the third player in program history to be selected as the league's Rookie of the Year, joining previous winners Stephanie Seibert (2011) and Hannah Lilly (2011), and landed a spot on the All-UAA First Team.

Junior Alexandra Loucopoulos joined her with All-UAA acclaim for the second consecutive season as she claimed Second Team honors after being a First Team recipient as a sophomore.

Olson made an immediate impact with the Eagles during her debut season as she started 24 of 25 games and finished as Emory's leading scorer with 16.1 points per game at 402 points, becoming only the 12th player in team history to reach 400 points in a single season. Her PPG figure was the best amongst rookies in the UAA and tied for sixth across all freshmen in Division III. Olson averaged a team-leading 28.1 minutes per game and ended the year shooting 43.6% from the floor, third-best total inside the UAA, and was 60-for-138 from three-point distance for a UAA-leading 43.5%. She was one of five Eagles with 110 or more rebounds and finished second on the team with 38 steals. During UAA play, Olson averaged 15.8 PPG with five games over 20 points including a season-high 27 points at Carnegie Mellon.

Loucopoulos had another standout season as a member of the Eagles, joining Olson in double figures at 13.5 PPG while starting 22 of the 24 games she appeared in. She finished as Emory's leader with 39 steals, second with 19 blocks and added 94 rebounds and 43 assists. During UAA play, Loucopoulos stepped up her game with a 16.4 PPG clip and netted 15 points or more in seven conference contests including career-best outings of 30 and 31 points in wins over Case Western Reserve (Jan. 23) and Rochester (Feb. 28). She concluded the year fifth amongst UAA leaders with a 41.2% field goal percentage.
