Baseball Defeated by UChicago to Kick Off Series

NYU led early but Chicago's defense dominated to help defeat the Violets 8-1.

NYU scored the game's first run thanks to an RBI single by

CJ Franchini, but Chicago quickly took the lead in the bottom half of the first inning scoring four runs.

The Violets' offense went quiet after their early run, but

Tyler Tedeschi was solid on the mound, silencing the Maroons' offense for the next few innings to keep NYU in the game. The senior held Chicago to just one hit from the second inning to the fourth inning.

Leading NYU 4-1, Chicago scored a total of four runs in the final five innings to extend their lead and close the games scoring.

Notable Stats:
