Hansen and Murphy were named the Liberty League Men's and Women's Field Performer of the Week, respectively, after receiving Field Performer of the Meet honors at this past week's Liberty League Indoor Championships in Henrietta, NY. Aceves Moreno captured Liberty League Men's Squash Rookie of the Week honors following his performance at the Hoehn Cup this past weekend.
Hansen competed in three events, scoring in two at the Liberty League Championships this weekend, which ended with him being named Field Performer of the Week. The sophomore captured first place in the heptathlon, scoring 4,771 points over the seven-event competition. Hansen added a seventh-place finish in the long jump (6.51 meters) and placed 13th in the pole vault at 4.06 meters, helping URochester to a second-place team finish.
Murphy was named Liberty League Field Performer of the Meet as URochester ended as the event runner-up at the Liberty League Championships. The first-year won the triple jump in a meet record 11.88 meters and captured second place in the long jump with a 5.77 meter leap, a new school record and #13 mark on the Division III performance list this season. Both jumps were regional qualifiers. Murphy also claimed an event win as part of UR's 4x400 meter relay that set a facility record time of 3:52.97 and ranks #21 in Division III this season.
Aceves Moreno was a winner in both of URochester's matches this past weekend, competing at the CSA Hoehn Cup (B Division) Championships. On Friday in the quarterfinals, Aceves Moreno won in four games (11-4, 6-11, 11-5, 11-5) over Philip Hyun Su Price of eventual champ MIT at the #1 position. The next day in the consolation round, the UR first-year again won 3-1 (8-11, 11-5, 11-6, 11-8), this time against Middlebury's Gabe Feinstein at the top spot on the ladder.
