Women’s Swimming and Diving’s Mostek Finishes 23rd in 200 Back at NCAAs
Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving wrapped up its NCAA Championship run with seniors Anya Mostek and Sydney Lu representing the Crimson. Mostek led the way, placing 23rd overall in the 200 back.
ATLANTA, GA - Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving senior Anya Mostek finished 23rd in the 200 back on Saturday at the NCAA Championships. The event marked Mostek's third in two days, as she and Lu wrapped up competition at the national meet.
Lu began the morning in the 200 fly, entering with a seed time of 1:56.25 following a runner-up finish at the Ivy League Championships. The senior had a great swim finishing in 1:57.78 but was unfortunately disqualified.
Mostek entered the meet with the 24th-fastest 200 back time in Division I this season, having recorded a personal-best 1:52.70 at the Ivy League Championships. She swam a 1:52.94 to place 23rd in a 45-athlete field and was the only Ivy League swimmer to compete in the event.
Mostek's performance capped the 14th consecutive season in which a Harvard athlete has appeared at the NCAA Championships.
