Women’s Swimming and Diving’s Bastone Finishes 27th in 1650 Free at NCAA Championships

The Crimson closed out its first day at the NCAA Championships in Atlanta, Georgia with a strong performance from Alexandra Bastone in the 1650 free. After her 27th-place finish, Bastone and her teammates now look ahead to the upcoming days of competition.

ATLANTA, GA - Harvard Women's Swimming and Diving completed its first day at the NCAA Championships on Wednesday in Atlanta, Georgia. Alexandra Bastone represented the Crimson in the 1650 free.

Bastone clocked a time of 16:17.85, finishing third in the first heat and securing 27th place overall in a competitive 40-athlete field. The junior will return to the pool on Friday to compete in the 500 free.

The action continues Thursday, March 19, as Sydney Lu makes her NCAA debut in the 100 fly. She will be joined by Nina Janmyr, who takes to the boards for the one-meter diving event. Swimming prelims are scheduled for 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT, followed by diving at 12:15 p.m. ET/9:15 A.M. PT. Finals are slated for 6 p.m. ET/3 p.m. PT. All the action will air live on ESPN+.
