Middlebury Earns 176 Spots On NESCAC Winter All-Academic Team
Middlebury had 176 student-athletes named to the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) Winter All-Academic Team. Williams led the league with 190 members, while Amherst ranked third with 154 selections. The women's and men's track and field programs led the way with 32 and 26 athletes respectively receiving the all-academic accolades, while the men's swimming and diving, women's ice hockey and men's ice hockey teams tied for the third-most recipients with 17.
Eight Panthers Earn NESCAC All-Sportsmanship Laurels For Winter Campaign
The New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) has announced its Winter All-Sportsmanship teams. The squad is composed of one student-athlete from each institution for each sport. Each individual is chosen by the players and coaches of their team for their persistence in sportsmanship. Athletes must be in good academic standing and be a member of the team for the entire season to be recognized.
Head Women’s Ice Hockey Coach Bill Mandigo Set To Retire in June
Legendary head women's ice hockey coach Bill Mandigo will retire at the conclusion of the 2025-26 academic year, Director of Athletics Erin Quinn '86 announced on Monday, March 16. Mandigo is the winningest Division III women's ice hockey coach, capping his career with an impressive 698-185-60 record. Mandigo concludes his 43-year coaching career, including 38 at Middlebury.
