The University of Rochester women's lacrosse team continued its strong season with an 18-8 victory over Utica University on April 15. The Yellowjackets scored nine goals in each half, showcasing a balanced offensive attack led by junior Anna Rogers, who recorded six goals and three assists. Senior Alyssa Gorny contributed five goals and two assists, while Allison Weiden added a goal and three assists. This win marks Rochester's third consecutive victory, improving their overall record to 9-4 for the season. The defense was equally impressive, causing 15 turnovers, with multiple players contributing to the effort. Looking ahead, the Yellowjackets will aim to build on this momentum in their upcoming games.
At the SUNY Brockport Multi & Invitational, the Rochester men's track and field team delivered several strong performances, highlighted by three athletes finishing in the top eight of the decathlon. Emmett Hansen led the way with a second-place finish and a personal-best score of 6,484 points, which ranks as the 12th-best decathlon score in NCAA Division III this season. Ashton Tokarski also excelled, placing second with a score of 5,638 points. The women's track and field team also found success, with Grace McInerney and Cassie Ward finishing second and third, respectively, in the heptathlon. McInerney's performance included a personal-best javelin throw of 25.52 meters, while Ward consistently placed in the top three across her events. Both teams will look to carry this positive momentum into their next competitions.
