This victory highlights the team's strong performance at the two-day event held on the Cooper River. Meanwhile, the No. 3 men's lightweight crew also showcased their prowess, earning silver medals in both the varsity eight and second varsity eight finals, narrowly missing gold in a competitive first varsity final.
In baseball, the Engineers recorded a decisive 9-1 victory over Clark University in a rain-shortened game at Stein Diamond on April 15. Eitan Moore stood out, finishing just a triple shy of the cycle, contributing significantly to the team's success in this NEWMAC contest. The game was called in the top of the eighth inning due to inclement weather.
The men's lacrosse team faced a tough challenge against Williams College, falling short in a close 14-13 contest on April 15. Despite a spirited comeback attempt that saw the Engineers score four goals in the fourth quarter to close the gap to one with just over two minutes remaining, they could not complete the rally. Collin Lung made 16 saves in goal for MIT, while Nick Reich and Ryan Nagle each recorded hat tricks for Williams.
On the women's lacrosse front, Pauline Vien earned recognition as the NEWMAC Women's Lacrosse Defensive Athlete of the Week for her outstanding performances in a 2-0 week for the Engineers. Vien recorded a total of 17 saves and three groundballs across two games, solidifying her impact on the field as MIT prepares to host Wheaton College on April 15.
