The Trinity College women's golf team achieved a significant milestone by winning the UHart/Trinity Invitational, held at Rockledge Golf Club in West Hartford, Connecticut. The Bantams, led by first-year CC Kaplan, who made history by shooting a one-under-par 71 in the opening round, maintained their lead throughout the two-day event. Despite challenging weather conditions on Sunday, Trinity improved its performance, finishing the tournament with a score 10 strokes better than the previous day. Junior Mia Lombardi also shone, moving up 11 spots on the leaderboard to finish sixth overall. This victory marks a notable achievement for the program, showcasing the team's depth and resilience.
In men's lacrosse, Trinity secured a vital 13-10 victory over Colby College in a NESCAC matchup. The Bantams, who had been struggling this season, fought off a comeback attempt from the Mules to clinch the win. Eight different players contributed to the scoring, with standout performances from Page, Sullivan, Finn, Harvey, and Connors. Goalie Matt Sheppard faced a career-high 50 shots, making 12 saves to help preserve the win. This victory improves Trinity's record to 6-8 overall and keeps their hopes alive for a spot in the upcoming NESCAC tournament, with a crucial matchup against Amherst on the horizon.
The Trinity College men's golf team finished eighth at the Farmingdale State Spring Invitational, competing against 16 teams at the Bethpage State Park Red Course. The Bantams will now prepare to host the NESCAC Championships at Fox Hopyard Golf Club this coming weekend, looking to build on their recent performances.
In women's squash, the Bantams celebrated multiple honors as three players earned All-American status, and senior Kara Lincou was named NESCAC Player of the Year. Lincou's recognition as the top player in the conference highlights her exceptional career, concluding with a 59-12 overall record. The men's squash team also garnered accolades, with four players receiving All-American honors and the coaching staff recognized for their championship season.
