The University of Rochester women's lacrosse team enjoyed a remarkable week, highlighted by senior attacker Alyssa Gorny's recognition as the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) NCAA Division III Co-Offensive Player of the Week. Gorny spearheaded the Yellowjackets' success with three game-winning goals as they triumphed in all three of their matches against Utica, Skidmore, and RPI, improving their record to 11-4 overall and 7-2 in conference play. In these contests, she amassed 11 goals and 6 assists, alongside 17 draw controls, 9 ground balls, and 7 caused turnovers. Her performance included a standout game against Utica, where she scored five goals and two assists, followed by another five-goal effort against Skidmore. Gorny's contributions also set new program records for career draw controls and game-winning goals, while tying the single-season points record.
In baseball, the Yellowjackets faced a challenging midweek doubleheader against Hamilton College, suffering defeats in both games. In the first matchup, Rochester fell 9-2, with Sam Loeb starting on the mound and pitching two scoreless innings before the Continentals surged ahead. Game two saw a closer contest, but the Yellowjackets were unable to overcome Hamilton, losing 3-1. With these losses, Rochester's record now stands at 12-18 for the season.
Men's golf also received recognition this week, as sophomore Alvin Su was named the Liberty League Men's Golf Performer of the Week, while first-year Anderson Palm earned Rookie of the Week honors. This acknowledgment reflects the team's ongoing efforts as they prepare for upcoming competitions.
