Case Western Reserve University first-year sprinter Gianna Phipps made headlines at the University Athletic Association Women's Outdoor Track and Field Championships, winning the 400-meter dash in a school record time of 54.82 seconds. Phipps' performance not only secured her the UAA title but also marked her second career championship, with this being her first in outdoor competition. The Spartans finished fifth overall in the meet, scoring 75 points, while senior Grace Misiunas also contributed with a third-place finish in the 100-meter hurdles. In addition to her individual success, Phipps placed fourth in the 200-meter dash and helped the 4x400-meter relay team to a fourth-place finish.
On the men's side, sophomore Donovan Crowley also claimed a UAA title, winning the 1,500-meter run with a time of 3:51.47, the second-fastest in program history. Crowley’s victory led the men's track and field team to a fifth-place finish overall, with the Spartans accumulating 94.5 points. Other notable performances included sophomore Charlie Stipanovich's second-place finish in the 400-meter dash and junior Tanush Anand's second in the high jump. Both teams demonstrated strong depth, with multiple athletes contributing to their scoring.
In baseball, the Spartans celebrated Senior Day with a doubleheader sweep against 14th-ranked Washington University (Mo.). Case Western Reserve won the first game 6-5 in dramatic fashion, thanks to a walk-off single from senior Jasiah Harris. They followed that with a 6-4 victory in the second game, finishing their University Athletic Association campaign with an 8-12 record and an overall mark of 19-19. The Spartans have adjusted their schedule for the final week of the season, with a road game against John Carroll University set for Sunday at noon.
