The Carnegie Mellon University women's tennis team had a week of contrasting results, beginning with a commanding 7-0 victory over John Carroll University on April 17. The seventh-ranked Tartans showcased their strength at home, improving their season record to 15-4. However, the team faced a setback two days later, falling 4-1 to 14th-ranked Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio. This loss brought their record to 15-5 as they continue to prepare for the upcoming UAA Championships.
In addition to their competitive efforts, 67 Carnegie Mellon student-athletes received recognition for their academic achievements, being named to the University Athletic Association’s All-Academic Recognition list for the spring season. This honor highlights the commitment of these student-athletes to excel both in their sports and in their academic pursuits, as they maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.500. The recognition underscores the balance that Carnegie Mellon athletes strive to achieve between rigorous academics and athletic competition, reflecting the university's commitment to excellence in both arenas.
