The Washington and Lee University men's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day with a decisive 29-1 victory over Randolph College on April 18, marking their fifth consecutive win. The Generals (11-5, 8-1 ODAC) showcased a powerful offense, scoring 13 goals in the first quarter alone. Senior James Haley led the charge with four goals and five assists, contributing to nine of the team's first-quarter scores. The team maintained its momentum, building a 16-0 halftime lead and finishing the game with a total of 29 goals, including a special moment when senior Nick Garcia assisted his brother Thomas for a goal. Meanwhile, the Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team secured the top seed in the ODAC Tournament with a 22-4 win over the University of Lynchburg on the same day. The sixth-ranked Generals (14-2, 8-0 ODAC) completed an undefeated conference season, marking their 12th consecutive year without a conference loss. They dominated the game, scoring eight goals in the first quarter and shutting out Lynchburg in the second half.
In track and field, both the men's and women's teams had strong showings at the New Captains Classic on April 18. Mason Mandis of the men's team moved into the program's top-five list while the team collectively achieved 25 top-eight finishes. The women's team recorded seven personal bests and two top-ten marks, contributing to a total of 33 top-eight finishes. The women's hammer throw crew also made an impact, earning top-ten marks to kick off the competition.
The Washington and Lee baseball team faced a challenging weekend, suffering a sweep against Virginia Wesleyan University on April 19. After a 10-day break due to final exams, the Generals (17-11-1, 10-8-1 ODAC) lost both games, including a close 5-3 decision in the first game, where they initially took the lead before falling behind. The team will look to rebound in upcoming matches as they continue their conference schedule.
The men's golf team prepares for the ODAC Championship, set to take place at Poplar Grove Golf Club in Amherst, Virginia. The course, known for its scenic views and challenging layout, will host the Generals as they aim for a strong performance in the conference tournament.
