The Navy women's lacrosse team achieved a historic milestone by advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals for the third time in program history after defeating Syracuse 11-10 in overtime on May 10. Trailing 9-3 at halftime, the Midshipmen mounted a second-half comeback, culminating in a decisive goal from sophomore Alyssa Chung. This victory not only marked the 20th win of the season, setting a new program record, but also highlighted the team's resilience, having previously come back from a similar deficit against Loyola in the 2025 Patriot League Championship. Navy will face the No. 3-seed Maryland Terrapins on May 14 in College Park, a match that will be broadcast on ESPNU.
In track and field, the Midshipmen concluded their regular season with a strong performance at the Navy National Elite meet, winning a total of 13 events. Notable performances included Susanna Henderson's victory in the 3,000-meter steeplechase and team captain Mia-Claire Kezal's career-best time in the 800 meters, which ranks as the 10th-fastest in school history. The Midshipmen are now poised to compete in the upcoming league championships, having showcased their skills effectively during this final meet.
Navy baseball is gearing up for the Patriot League Semifinals against Bucknell after securing a postseason berth earlier in the month. The series, originally scheduled to begin on May 9, has been adjusted due to weather and will now start on May 14. The Midshipmen, seeded third in the tournament, are looking to return to the championship series for the second time in three years. Junior Timmy Virtudes has also been recognized for his academic achievements, earning a spot on the Academic All-Patriot League Team, underscoring the balance of athletics and academics within the program.
The Navy women's golf team is set to compete in the NCAA Stanford Regional, beginning on May 11. This marks the team's third consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament, and they will look to make an impact against a competitive field at the Stanford Golf Course. The lineup includes standout players such as Emma Tang and Vivian Cressman, who will aim to advance through the regional stages and into the national championship.
