The Bowdoin men's swimming and diving team had a remarkable showing at the 2026 NESCAC Championship, rewriting the record books with 13 new school records. Competing in Waterville, Maine, the Polar Bears finished seventh overall with 768 points, narrowly trailing Hamilton and Middlebury. The meet kicked off with a record-breaking performance in the 800 free relay, where Raphael Grand'Pierre, Jaran Depew, Getchell Gibbons, and David Xu clocked in at 6:45.94. The team continued to excel, with standout performances throughout the four-day event, solidifying Bowdoin's competitive presence in the conference.
As Bowdoin's swimming achievements unfold, the hockey teams are gearing up for the NESCAC quarterfinals. The men's ice hockey team, seeded second in the tournament, will host Amherst on February 28 at 4:00 p.m. in Watson Arena. The Polar Bears enter the matchup with a split record against the Mammoths this season, having won 3-0 in their last encounter. Meanwhile, the women's ice hockey team, seeded seventh, will face a challenging game against second-seeded Amherst at 3:00 p.m. on the same day, seeking to avenge earlier losses to the Mammoths.
In squash, both Bowdoin teams are preparing for the CSA Divisional Championships, set to begin on February 27 in Philadelphia. The women’s team, seeded fifth in the Kurtz Cup Division, will face Williams at 9:00 a.m., while the men’s team, holding the top seed in the Summers Cup Division, is set to battle Denison at 3:00 p.m. The Polar Bears aim to make a strong showing in this prestigious tournament.
