Owen Vale, a first-year swimmer at Amherst College, has been named the NESCAC Men's Swim & Dive Rookie of the Year following a standout performance at the conference championships. Vale set both a NESCAC Record and a NESCAC Meet Record in the 400 individual medley with a time of 3:50.78. He also secured a second-place finish in the 200 IM with an NCAA B-cut time of 1:47.84 and placed fourth in the 200 butterfly, achieving another NCAA B-cut time of 1:48.35. Vale is the second consecutive Mammoth to earn this honor, underscoring a growing tradition of excellence in the program.
The Amherst College men's squash team concluded its season with a 6–3 loss to Colby in the Hoehn Cup semifinals. This match marked the third meeting between the two teams this season, with Colby winning all three encounters. Despite the defeat, the Mammoths displayed resilience, winning at the lower positions, including notable victories from Grady Herbert and Aiden Shap. Earlier in the tournament, Amherst had advanced to the semifinals by defeating Franklin & Marshall 6–3, showcasing their depth by winning all matches from courts 5 to 9.
The women's basketball team saw its season come to an end with an 80–68 loss to Bates in the NESCAC semifinals. After a strong quarterfinal performance against Connecticut College, the Mammoths faced a challenging matchup against the second-seeded Bobcats. Despite multiple momentum shifts and a strong effort that saw them lead at times, Amherst could not secure the victory, finishing the season with an overall record of 18–8.
The men's hockey team also faced elimination in the NESCAC quarterfinals, falling 3–1 to Bowdoin. After a strong finish to the regular season, the Mammoths struggled against the Polar Bears, ending their campaign with a record of 12–11–2. Bowdoin's early goal set the tone, and while Amherst fought back to close the gap, they could not complete the comeback, marking yet another early exit from the postseason for the Mammoths.
