Columbia men's basketball concluded its season with an 81-71 loss to Harvard on March 7, 2026. The Lions, finishing with a record of 16-12 overall and 5-9 in Ivy League play, struggled with shooting, hitting only 43.5 percent from the field and a mere 25 percent from three-point range. Despite a strong effort from seniors Patrick Noland and Liam Thompson, both scoring in double figures, Columbia could not overcome Harvard's early lead and a decisive 9-0 run late in the game. This marks the end of a season that saw the Lions achieve their first winning record since 2015-16 and secure a spot over .500 for the first time in nearly a decade.
In men's squash, Columbia's run at the College Squash Association Team National Championships came to an end after a 6-3 defeat to Harvard in the quarterfinals on March 6, 2026. The Lions had advanced to the quarterfinals by decisively defeating Tufts 8-1 earlier in the week. In that match, Yusuf Sheikh led the way with a straight-game victory at No. 1, followed by impressive five-set wins from Ahmad Haq and Laszlo Godde. However, against Harvard, Columbia fell behind early, with Harvard winning crucial matches in the top positions. The Lions' lower ladder players managed to secure some victories, but it was not enough to turn the tide. Columbia's squash team now looks ahead to next season, aiming to build on their competitive performance this year.
