The Raiders, making their ninth consecutive appearance in this round, were led by Jalen Cox, who scored 26 points, and Andrew Alekseyenko, who added 19. The defeat marked the end of a competitive season for the Raiders, who had hoped to advance to the championship game.
In contrast, the Colgate women's basketball team is enjoying a successful playoff run. The Raiders, seeded tenth, secured an upset victory over seventh-seeded Bucknell with a score of 57-47 in the first round on March 6. Colgate's strong start, highlighted by a 23-4 lead in the first quarter, was pivotal in the win. Ella Meabon led the team with her scoring prowess, while Amarah Streiff and Madison Schiller contributed significantly on defense, combining for ten steals. Following this victory, the Raiders faced second-seeded Holy Cross in the quarterfinals on March 9, looking to build on their momentum. In addition, Meabon earned All-Patriot League Third Team honors for her outstanding season, marking a significant individual achievement amidst the team's playoff journey.
